The Hennevanger brothers from Saffier Yachts in Holland are giving themselves their best Christmas present yet. Shortly before the holidays, they launched their latest addition, the Saffier Sc 6.50 Cruise, in IJmuiden and tested it extensively.
We developed the project and the concept at YACHT online already presented in detail in July 2015. Essentially, the enterprising Dutch have given their very first boat, the Saffier 6.50, a completely new and closed deck. In addition, the hull appendages have been redefined, the rig is larger and can also carry more sail area. And the new, trailerable boat has become significantly lighter. While the cuddly predecessor model weighed a total of 1250 kilograms, the new version weighs just 870 kilograms ready to sail, less than originally calculated.
After the first test strokes, Dennis Hennevanger was pleasantly surprised by the excellent sailing characteristics: "The new boat behaves excellently, especially in the waves. And it sails very lively - no comparison with the old and rather sluggish 6.50."
The Saffier Sc 6.50 Cruise is available in three versions:
The Dutch company Saffier Yachts is presenting the new Sc 6.50 Cruise as a world premiere at the Trade fair boot to Düsseldorf. The exciting little boat will be on display at stand D27 in hall 15. Until then, the Hennevangers have made the first photos of the test run exclusively available to YACHT online.
